Civil and Political Rights is responsible for the investigation, protection and promotion of civil and political rights in Malawi in the broadest sense possible. The Commission has investigated high profile cases including incidences of deaths of suspects while in police custody, produced monitoring reports on places of detentions, elections, post-election demonstrations and violence, and floods.
